What's included
What is actually included instorage?
Storage with a remover is a different thing from a self-storage unit. You are not renting an empty room and hiring a van to fill it — we collect it, wrap it, store it and bring it back, as one job with one price.
That matters most when storage sits either side of a move, which is nearly always why people need it. One crew, one set of vans, one quote covering the collection, the storage and the redelivery.
We are based in Jarrow and we are not a marketplace — the people who load your things are the same people who bring them back.
Collected from your door
You do not have to get anything to us. Collection from your door can be arranged as part of the job, with the same crew and the same vans that would run your move.
Wrapped before it goes in
Padded blankets over furniture and bubble wrap where it is needed. Things that are going to sit for a few months are worth protecting properly rather than stacking loose.
Labelled on the way in
Everything is labelled as it is loaded, so what comes back out is what went in and you are not opening six boxes to find the kettle.
Short-term or longer
A fortnight between completions, a summer between student lets, or a longer arrangement. Tell us roughly how long you need when you ask for the quote.
Quoted alongside your move
Storage is priced with the removal rather than as a separate job, so you get one figure covering the collection, the storage and the redelivery.
£50,000 cover while we move it
Goods-in-transit cover applies while your belongings are handled and transported by our crew. Tell us the value of what you are storing and we will confirm the cover that applies while it is with us.
How pricing works
How do we priceyour storage?
Volume and time, plus the collection and the return. It is quoted with your move rather than as a separate bill, so there is one number to look at.
Volume and time, mostly
Volume is the one people get wrong, and always in the same direction. The loft, the garage, the shed and the garden furniture turn an expected eighteen cubic metres into twenty-four, so it is worth counting them before you ask.
- The volume you are storing, in cubic metres
- How long you need it for
- Whether we collect it and bring it back
- The distance for the collection and the return
In writing, not on the day
Storage goes wrong when the terms are vague, so we settle them at the quote. If any of the four below are not clear to you before you commit, ask — of us or of anyone else you are comparing.
- The term, and what happens if your dates move
- The volume, measured rather than estimated
- The collection and redelivery dates
- The cover that applies while your things are with us
Moving as well? Ask for both in one quote.

Almost nobody wants storage for its own sake. It is nearly always a gap between two dates that will not meet.
A chain that does not line up
You complete on the sale before you complete on the purchase, and there is a fortnight in between. Everything goes into store on the Friday and comes back out when the keys arrive.
The summer between student lets
Most lets end in June and start in September. Rather than taking a term's worth of belongings home and back again, leave what you are not using with us.
Renovating a room or a whole house
Furniture out of the way while floors go down and walls come out, then back in when the dust has settled. Better than a garage and a tarpaulin.
Working away for a season
A contract elsewhere, a placement, or time abroad. The flat goes back to the landlord and your things wait here rather than in a friend's spare room.
Downsizing before you decide
More furniture than the new place takes. Store what will not fit while you work out what stays and what goes, instead of deciding in a hurry on moving day.
A business between premises
Desks, filing and stock parked between one lease ending and the next starting. It is booked the same way, alongside the office move rather than separately.
Storage nearly always sits either side of a move, so it is worth booking them together — home removals, student removals and office removals can all be quoted with the storage in one figure.
How storageactually works
Five stages, and the one that matters most is the fourth — because dates move, and a storage booking that cannot flex is not much use in a chain.
Tell us the volume and the term
Roughly what you are storing and roughly how long for. If we are also doing your move, the survey or the inventory already gives us the volume.
One quote, both legs
The collection, the storage and the redelivery are priced together so you are looking at a single figure rather than three.
Collected and wrapped
Our own crew, our own vans. Furniture is blanket-wrapped and everything is labelled as it is loaded rather than afterwards.
Stored until you need it
If your dates move — and in a chain they usually do — tell us and we extend rather than making you rebook the whole thing.
Brought back when you are ready
Redelivered to the new address and carried into the rooms you point at, the same as any other move.
Where do we collectfrom?
We are based on Rolling Mill Road in Jarrow, so collection across Tyne and Wear and County Durham is a short run each way.
